Awards for Members
The White Rock-South Surrey Division of Family Practice offers two annual awards for Members.
The S.P.A.R.K Award
In 2025, the WRSS Division introduced the S.P.A.R.K. Award, an annual recognition celebrating changemakers who energize our culture, champion care, and inspire those around them.
This Member-nominated award honours members, by members, and is presented each year at the Annual General Meeting.

Tom Blades Award
The WRSS Division set up the annual Tom Blades award in 2010 to honour Family Physicians for their outstanding contributions to primary care in our community.
Dr. Thomas R. Blades retired in 1973. He arrived in White Rock with his family in February 1946 after his discharge from the Royal Canadian Airforce (RCAF).
The Tom Blades Award is presented each year at the Annual General Meeting.

The White Rock-South Surrey Division of Family Practice set up the annual Tom Blades award in 2010 to honour Family Physicians for their outstanding contributions to primary care in our community.
Dr. Thomas R. Blades retired in 1973. He arrived in White Rock with his family in February 1946 after his discharge from the Royal Canadian Airforce (RCAF). He established his practice in the Cloninger Hotel on Marine Drive and then moved on to more spacious quarters in a medical building on Vidal Street.
